The Official FIVE STARR Website - Created 08/24/00 - Updated 02/07/07

    CREATED NOVEMBER 13th, 2006

This is a very special page that has been put together in honor of some of the greatest athletes to ever step inside a wrestling ring. These wrestlers are either passed on or no longer able to compete in the ring anymore. Some of FIVE STARR's very favorites growing up... and still favorites to this day. These are wrestlers and entertainers that are responsible for me ever WANTING to be a wrestler. Without these guys... wrestling would not only NOT BE WHAT IT IS TODAY... but without these guys, there are MANY wrestlers out there that would've never thought to follow in their foot-steps.

THE BRITISH BULLDOG DAVEY BOY SMITH

I have actually been told that I resemble this man. The British Bulldog has always been one of my personal favorites to watch. Sure, he wasn't a great mat technitian. Sure, he wasn't a guy that had charisma like The Rock. But this dude was always great. He won every major title there was to win... except the World title. In my opinion, his induction in the WWE Hall of Fame is WAY over-due. The Bulldog never had to change his name... never changed his gimmick... and was always a major player in WWE. He was one-half of TWO of the greatest tag teams ever (in my opinion). He was a member of the British Bulldogs and a member of the Bulldog/Owen tag team. He was also a member of the famous Hart Foundation stable. It's a shame that the Bulldog isn't around to see his son, Harry Smith, compete in the WWE today. But, I'm glad I got to watch the British Bulldog for all those years. A former WWE IC Champion, former WWE Tag Team Champion, first ever European Champion... he's definitely a legend of the sport.

    OWEN HART

The worst tragedy in the history of pro wrestling took this athlete away from us. He came from the most famous wrestling family in the history of the business... the Hart family. Owen was another wrestler that seemed to always be entertaining whether the storyline was interesting or not. I remember him teaming up with Yokozuna and wondering, "Why on earth are they even together as a team?" But, you know, it worked. Not only was he a part of that successful team, but (like stated above) he also teamed with Davey Boy and was a member of the Hart Foundation. Owen could adjust to any situation and do a different character and style. The Rocket, The Black Hart, The Nugget, The Slammy Award Winner... you name it and he did it. Another guy who is WELL over-due for the Hall of Fame... but you know his day is coming soon. Owen, to me, will always be remembered as a great wrestler that we lost WAY too soon.

    "MR. PERFECT" CURT HENNIG

The Intercontinental Championshiop belt and Mr. Perfect will forever be remembered as the, well, perfect pairing. Possibly one of the best IC Champions EVER... and definitely one of the best athletes ever. Curt Hennig is a former AWA World Heavyweight Champion. I was actually in attendace at the Mid-South Coliseum when Jerry Lawler defeated Hennig for the AWA World title back in 1988. I was only one and a half starr back then, but from watching this man perform, it has made me into the FIVE STARR that I am today. One of my favorites ever... and I actually got to meet him when he worked for TNA. Hennig will always go down in history as one of the best, just ask anyone... they'll tell you.

    "RAVISHING" RICK RUDE

Another great Intercontinental Champion. I will always remember Rude's great feuds with the Ultimate Warrior and Jake Roberts. He had a great build and an ever better charisma. Ravishing Rick Rude was always one of my favorite characters. He is also the only man to ever be on RAW and Nitro on the SAME NIGHT. A member of the original DX, and the master of the neck-breaker, the Ravishing One will live on at DUSTINSTARR.COM.

    BRET "THE HITMAN" HART

He is the Excellence of Execution... he is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Need I say more? I grew up watching The Hitman battle Stone Cold Steve Austin, Jerry "The King" Lawler, Shawn Michaels... I saw the Montreal Screwjob LIVE. He is in the WWE Hall of Fame, Class of 2005, and he deserves it. One of the greatest WWE World Heavyweight Champions of all time, Bret has done it all. He's a former WCW and WWE World Heavyweight Champion, former US and Intercontinental Champion, former WWE and WCW Tag Team Champion... he's done it ALL, literally. Bret suffered an injury at the hands of Bill Goldberg and can no longer compete... but The Hitman will always be one of my very favorites.

    BRIAN PILLMAN

You talk about a surprise... I was watching a WWE pay-per-view and Vince McMahon came on at the beginning. Hmm, wonder what he's about to say. Then, boom, just like that... McMahon announces that Pillman has died in his hotel room. It was a very sad moment for me because I LOVED the Loose Cannon. I LOVED him as a Horseman and I LOVED him as a member of the Hart Foundation. Some people say that I take getting my heat a little too far... they say I shouldn't say this and shouldn't say that... I even shouldn't throw things and act like a lunatic. Well, you wanna know where I get a lot of that? Brian Pillman. One of my very favorite babyfaces and one of my very favorite heels. He could do it all. It actually hurts to think about this guy not being around anymore. Wrestling needs more guys like this one.

    EDDIE GUERRERO

You knew this one was going to be on the list. When I heard the news, I didn't read it on the net, like usual. I didn't see it on WWE TV. I was actually training in Ward, AR before the show with some of the boys... and someone came into the building with the big news. I couldn't beleive it until I saw it for myself. Eddie was great. He was able to take a plain-jane babyface style from WCW and create a whole new persona. Not only that, but with the in-ring work of Guerrero, he became a Hall of Famer and a legend in our business. Not just living off the legend of his family name... Eddie created his own legacy. Whether it was his Latino Heat, or if he was Your Papi... Eddie as a heel was great! Sad to see him go so soon... but he will always be a favorite of mine, that's for sure.

    FOUR HORSEMEN

Luckily, these guys are all still alive. The coolest stable ever formed in the history of the wrestling business. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair was and always will be the leader of the team. No matter which group of guys it was, Flair was always there. Whether it was the faction with Blanchard... or Windham... or even Mongo McMichael. All the groups were great. Mongo just grew on me. Arn was the Enforcer (whom I've met). He was a great mouth-piece for the group. You know the story... but these guys will never be duplicated, no matter how hard WWE tries.
